Screen and Stage: Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are

Journey to the world of the wild things in this exhibit that explores adaptations of Maurice Sendak’s classic children’s book, Where the Wild Things Are, for the stage and screen. See wild things, Max’s costume from the 2009 Spike Jonze film adaptation, and a full-hand puppet set created by artist Amy Luckenbach for a stage production. Get a behind-the-scenes peek into the production of the 2009 film and learn about how the wild things were created and adapted on set during filming.
This exhibit was created in partnership with the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut.
